Jennifer Cawley Photographs

Jennifer grew up in a pet shop on Clark Street in Chicago. Her interest in photography came from spending time as a small child in her aunt Donna's darkroom. She decided then that she wanted to make pictures out of poison. Jennifer studied photography at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. At the age of 21, Jennifer moved to London to start her career as a portrait photographer, working for Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine, Hello Magazine, You Magazine, Vanity Fair Magazine, Loaded Magazine, Living Etc Magazine, Elle Magazine, and countless others.

After nearly 20 years of living and shooting in London, Jennifer and her British designer husband William Cawley headed with their kids to the sunny beaches of Southern California. Today Jennifer spends less time shooting in studios, more time shooting on beaches, in pools, and on paddle boards. 2020 Jennifer was awarded the Golden Medal for Travel Portraits from The National American Travel Journalist Association, for a portrait of one of her favorite subjects Laird Hamilton, for American Way Magazine. 2022 Jennifer won Gold Medal for her Mental Health Awareness Campaign, partnered with NAMI Westside Los Angeles “Free Your Me” - 100 Portraits of well known personalities screaming in support of Mental Health.
